What is ISO 14001?

What is ISO 50001?
ISO 50001 specifies the Energy Management System (EnMS) requirements to implement an Energy Policy and achieve those policy commitments and procedures to systematically track, analyze, and improve energy efficiency within an organization. The EnMS establishes objectives, targets and action plans to improve energy performance. A US Department of Energy study validated the energy and cost savings from ISO 50001 implemented systems. The study showed that companies saved 12% on average in the first 15 months of ISO 50001 implementation. Most times the payback from all costs associated with ISO 50001 is 2 years or less, and many times is less than 1 year.
What is Superior Energy Performance 50001 (SEP 50001), the ANSI/MSE 50028-1 standard?
SEP 50001 or American National Standard 50028-1 specifies additional Superior Energy Performance™ requirements beyond ISO 50001:2018. SEP 50001 is ISO 50001:2018 certification with additional verification of positive (> 0.0%) energy performance improvement over a period of 1 to 3 years.
